We continue to write about the charity organizations rendering assistance to the fighters in the zone of the anti-terrorist operation (hereafter, the ATO) in the frame of the project ‘Volunteers’ movement in Ukraine’. Last week with a help of the participants of the charity marathon ‘Voice of peace’ and the representatives of the International Charity Fund ‘Save Ukraine’ (hereafter, ICF) the emergency car was delivered to Schastje.
Now, especially near Schastje currently occur the most intensive battles this help is most appreciated. An emergency car will be serving peaceful inhabitants who remained there, fighters of ‘Aydar’ and ‘Golden gate’ and all the military in the area.
According to the volunteer Yurii Danilov (at the picture on the right), situation in the city is quite difficult: ‘Today Schastje is actually a ghost-city. Out of 12 000 inhabitants remained a few thousands. Protection of the city mainly is provided by the fighters of ‘Aydar’. Despite of the difficult situations, our guys show high fighting spirit and are not going to leave this important strategic object as Lugansk thermal power plant (hereafter, TPP) that is located near Schastje. Around 200 people continue working in this largest in the country TPP that provides heating and electricity for the whole Lugansk region. They do it under everyday shelling and attacks of the separatists. They are quite easy targets as their ‘Grads’ are located immediately behind Vesela Gora that hides naturally the location of the fighters from the back fire. In addition, on the mountain ‘snipers’ holes’ are situated. Thus, unfortunately an emergency car will be needed there’.
It should be noted that shelling of the TPP continues uninterrupted. And even in the time when the volunteers have been in Schastje, ‘Grads’ have been active. Ukrainian militaries are concerned with the fact that in the places of their explosions and near the craters with the missiles is often found a yellow powder.
If it is phosphorus, then it turns out that the separatists use the phosphorus ammunition in the use of which they accused Ukrainian military. It should be reminded that this kind of weapon can cause particularly serious and painful injuries or lead to a slow and painful death. Medical personnel with special qualification needed to treat such injuries. It is important to know that the non-qualified doctors could sustain phosphorus wounds as well while rendering medical aid.
Concerning the current situation in Schastje, its defenders are in urgent need of a thermal imager. ‘We are able to refuse from the food, water, any kind of sweets until the end of spring if we have a thermal imager,’ – say the fighters. The details can be seen here.
